Green Learning Foundation

Green Learning Foundation is a registered charitable organization dedicated to the education of children. The foundation states that both teaching and learning can be more effective, relevant and meaningful through the use of Student-Directed Teaching. Green Learning Foundation supports breaking away from traditional methods of education, allowing the students to explore the world around them according to their own learning preferences; this makes education more meaningful for the child and enables the information to be retained longer. One of the ways in which the foundation accomplishes this, is through the availability of scholarship opportunities to students and families who otherwise would not be able to benefit from Student-Directed Teaching.


Green Learning Foundation continuously pushes the boundaries of education. The foundation’s mission is to facilitate children learning how to become true critical thinkers. By fully exploring their own personal strengths, the student becomes more innovative in problem solving, resourceful and able to think for themselves. The foundation further sponsors programs throughout Calgary and surrounding communities, such as free public monthly workshops on How Children Learn, The Learning Station, professional development courses and Green Learning Academy Programs.
